What Does Embodiment Even Mean (and Why It Changes Everything in Sales)?

If I’m being totally honest, I didn’t even really understand this word before I started studying it - my body just knew she wanted it! Embodiment has many variations of definitions that we try to understand with our mind, but the reality is that the word is more easily understood once it’s felt. That being said, I’ll do my best to explain from my own lived experience!
Embodiment is the practice of living, leading, and making decisions from within the body, not just the mind. It’s about learning to listen to your nervous system, your heart, your emotions, and internal cues instead of overriding them through overthinking, pushing, or performing. Embodiment is the process of depth first, direction second. We feel before we act.
The School of Embodied Arts defines Embodiment as “inhabiting self” which is about “allowing the most powerful & sincere ‘version’ of yourself (ie. who you already are) to occupy your body & being, to the point of overflow.”
When you’re embodied, you feel more grounded, clear, and self-trusting. Decisions become easier. Boundaries feel more natural. You expand your capacity to feel pleasure and joy. Confidence comes from presence rather than effort, and resilience is something you can feel in your body, not something you pretend to have.
In sales, embodiment creates steadier confidence, deeper connection, and more sustainable success. Rather than selling from pressure or force, you sell by being connected to your own personal power. An embodied woman sells with ease because she knows who she is, she processes her emotions and she magnetizes opportunities and wins because she is living in alignment with the truth of her being. Adios burnout!!!
Signs You May Be Disconnected From Your Body
• Saying yes when something in you wanted to say no
• Doubting yourself or second-guessing your decisions
• Holding back parts of yourself or staying unseen
• Being overly critical of your body or appearance
• Reaching for external stimulation instead of true pleasure or rest
• Following the status quo because you’re unsure what you actually want
• Prioritizing productivity over play, rest, or enjoyment
